Elaine McKenzie has spent fourteen years negotiating acquisitions for a Newport Beach real estate development firm. Now she’s in charge of a project that will transform sleepy Devils Creek, California, into a world-class ski resort—and give her a shot at the corner office. But after she uproots her teenage daughter and relocates to the mountains, Elaine finds out that local environmentalists are organizing to oppose the project. Orthopedic surgeon Hart Cameron has been relieved of his roles as father and husband following the death of his son and his subsequent divorce. The recent news that Tiger Woods has changed his putter from the Scotty Cameron Newport 2 to the Nike Method after an 11 year love affair has set the golfing world on fire. At the recent St Andrews open tournament, Woods revealed that he would be ditching his putter for someone new.
Here are the 5 reasons why Tiger has changed to the Nike Method putter.
1. The Groove
The Method putter uses a groove technology that helps keep the ball on the grass for longer. Most putters cause the ball to leave the ground for several inches and then make it bounce towards the hole. The Method putter stops that from happening.
2. The Speed
Woods discussed how he was used to using his Cameron putter on faster greens in the US and he wanted to use a slower putter for the St Andrews Open. This will help him control the ball better and sink more difficult putts.
3. The Sponsor
We all know that Tiger Woods is sponsored by Nike – so why not use a Nike putter? I wonder how much pressure he came under from them when he said he was thinking of choosing a new club for the Open.
4. The History
Woods has suffered recently with bad form on putting and this may have forced his hand to choose a new club. After all, a change is as good as a rest.
5. The Design
The shape and design of the Nike Method 001 putter is very similar to his old Newport 2 putter. This will have made the transition to the club easier for him and will have resulted in less time spent learning the ways of the Nike putter.
We know now that his choice to switch to this putter made no difference to his game and he did not grab the title at the famous Scottish golf course. Woods remains one of the top golfers in the world and once his composure and private life are back to normal, he will be back to winning form again.
