Every wondered what class 2, class 3, and class 207-2006 refer to? It turns out these classes are given to safety vests based on standards that have been set by the American National Standards Institute, or ANSI. In order to reach one of these standards, a vest much have a required amount of fluorescent and reflective material. In this article, we’ll be focusing on class 207-2006 vests and more specifically, what they are used for and what the ANSI requirements are.
ANSI 207-2006 vests are designed to be worn by public safety workers, including firefighters, police officers, and emergency medical responders. The vests are also often referred to as public safety vests.
To achieve the standards set by ANSI, class 207-2006 safety vests are required to be composed of at least 450 square inches of high visibility fluorescent material and at least 201 square inches of reflective striping. To differentiate the vests among workers, they are often color coded according to the type of public service. Green class 207-2006 vests are worn by emergency medical workers, red vests are worn by firefighters, and blue vests are worn by police officers. These vests are most commonly worn by service workers to keep them protected while working near roadside and highway traffic.
ANSI 207-2006 public safety vests also have a variety of safety features. One of the key safety features is the vest’s ability to tear or break away from the user. Most vests use a zipper closure, but this can put the wearer in danger if it snags on a dangerous or fast moving object. If a public vest snags on something, it can break away from the body, preventing any harm to the wearer. This is especially important for workers wearing this vest, as they are often working near high speed traffic.

Will Ellsbury or Cameron play CF for the Red Sox?
Now that Crawford will play LF in Boston, will Ellsbury play CF, or will Cameron keep CF? Ellsbury is a great young player with a lot of potential, although he missed last season with injury. However, I’m not sure if Ellsbury has the defense to play CF. What do you guys think? WIll it be Cameron or Ellsbury in CF for the Red Sox?
Likely, Ellsbury will be penciled in for opening day. He provides greater speed than Cameron and Cameron is approaching 40 and was already showing sub-par defensive performance last year.
Also, Ellsbury has a greater stealing ability to lead off the order, something Crawford prefers not to do.
