WHO ARE THE GREATEST PLAYERS IN THE HISTORY OF THE NEW YORK RANGERS?From the uppermost reaches of Madison Square Garden to the subway platforms below, in living rooms and in taxicabs, it’s a debate that’s been raging for over eight decades and now continues on the pages of 100 Ranger Greats.Authors Russ Cohen, John Halligan and Adam Raider scoured the Rangers’ all-time roster to bring you the 100 men who each left an indelible mark on the game as a member of New York’s “Original Six” hockey club. From Bill Cook and Lorne (Gump) Worsley to Jaromir Jagr and Henrik Lundqvist, the players who have best exemplified the club motto “pride, passion and tradition” are profiled and ranked in this very special publication created just for Rangers fans, perhaps the most fiercely loyal (and opinionated) fans in all of sports.Lavishly illustrated and full of colorful anecdotes and compelling facts, 100 Ranger Greats will provoke, entertain, and enlighten Rangers fans of all ages. This could be the most complete history of the Broadway Blueshirts ever written.

Excerpt: Stralsund – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia In medieval ages, the Stralsund area was part of the West Slavic Principality of Rügen, which was part of the Kingdom of Denmark since 1168. At that time, the Dänholm isle and a small fishing village, both at the site of the latter city, were named Strale / Stralow, meaning “arrow” (this meaning is still preserved in the town’s coat of arms, showing an arrow). In the course of German Ostsiedlung, many German settlers, gentry and merchants were called into the principality, and eventually populated the Strale site. Merchants from other countries as well as locals were attracted to the settlement and made up for one third of the city’s population. The Danish navy was using the isle as well. When the settlement had grown to town size, prince Wizlaw I of Rügen granted Lübeck law to “our town Stralow” in 1234. In 1240, when the prince gave additional land to the city, he called it Stralesund. The success of the settlement challenged the powerful Free City of Lübeck, which burnt Stralsund down in 1249. Afterwards the town was rebuilt with a massive city wall having 11 town gates and 30 watchtowers. The Neustadt, a town-like suburb, was merged to Stralsund by 1361. Schadegard, a twin town to Stralsund also founded by Wizlaw I nearby, but was not granted German law, served as the principal stronghold and enclosed a fort. It was given up and torn down by 1269 under the pressure of the Stralsund Bürger. In 1293 Stralsund became a member of the Hanseatic League. A total of 300 ships flying the flag of Stralsund cruised the Baltic Sea in the 14th century. In 1325, the Principality of Rügen became part of the Duchy of Pomerania, Stralsund however maintained a considerable independence. In the 17th century,

As no authentic Bulgar records have survived, most of our information comes from contemporary Arabic , Persian , Indian or Russian sources. Some information is provided by excavations. It is thought that the territory of Volga Bulgaria was originally settled by Finno-Ugric peoples . They reached Idel-Ural in in the eighth century, where they became the dominant population at the end of the 9th century, uniting other tribes of different origin which lived in the area. Gwynedd (pronounced ) is one of several Welsh successor states that emerged in 5th-century post-Roman Britain . It was based on the former Brythonic tribal lands of the Ordovices , Gangani , and the Deceangli which were collectively known as Venedotia in late Romano-British documents. Between the 5th and 13th centuries Gwynedd grew to include Ynys Môn and all of north Wales between the River Dyfi in the south and River Dee (Welsh Dyfrdwy ) in the northeast. The Irish sea (Môr Iwerddon ) washes the coast of Gwynedd to the west and north and lands formerly part of the Kingdom of Powys border Gwynedd in the south-east.Gwynedd’s strength lay in part due to the region’s mountainous geography which made it difficult for foreign invaders to campaign in the country and impose their will effectively.

There may not be any mountains in and around London, but the sport of mountain biking is huge in West Drayton – Greater London. This suburb is close to Heathrow Airport and Brunel University, and has a high popular of students. But people of every age are getting into mountain biking in a big way.

Mountain, road, social riders, time trail enthusiasts are all welcome to join the West Drayton Mountain Bike Club, formed in 1990 in conjunction with a local bike shop called Heff’s. The mountain bike racing scene was starting to pick up and the club also started running social events, including trips to Wales and France.

Today, the West Drayton Mountain Bike Club has 65 riders and still promotes on and off road races every year. Club members have raced in Spain, Switzerland and in the famous Paris-Roubaix.

Although mountain biking for fun and for sport is still the club’s main interest, many riders are getting into road races with lighter bikes.

When Heff’s ceased sponsorship of the club, some members began to fall away. However since 2001 a new sponsor has signed on and riders are coming back, with clothing and equipment being subsidized. The club is based in West Drayton but with new sponsorship from the Guildford area there are now members from further afield.

On the social side the club has regular weekend rides for riders of all ages and abilities – from ages 9 to 50. There are overnight rides on weekends and trips out of the country. Members get up to all sorts of activities, including riding on the track in the velodrome, training and racing on the Hillingdon Road Circuit, time trials on the Amersham Road and a couple of loops on the circuit at Black Park.

The adults of the club get together for regular pub nights where they enjoy a beer or two where they plan the next great race. Check out the West Drayton Mountain Bike Club website for more information.

Has anyone ever been to Gotham all ages night club in Riverside?

Me and my friends are planning on going to Gotham instead of our senior prom this year. I was just wondering if anyone has been there? And was it a fun experience?

Gotham night club was a frequent spot in my clubbing days (now 28). Then one day when I pulled up at the club. I saw that Gotham got closed down. There was a lot of violence there, my car stereo was even stolen in their parking lot. Gotham was closed for a long time. It was closed down for, I think, 5 years. I didn’t know it’s re-opened.

Well… from what I remember, there are only certain nights during the week that are so-called all ages. Although, maybe the newly renovated place is an all ages club, now, because the last time I was there was several years back. As for fun?…..yeah, it was fun. I went with my girls and we always had a good time. Its a pretty wide-open club with lots of space.

Although, I loved my prom way more than any night club. I thought I wasn’t going to like my prom and that it would be boring. But my prom ended up being a blast. The prom is an experience you cannot take back, whereas a night at the club is something that can be done over and over again.

Hope this info helped. Best wishes.
