AUTOMATED PREDICTION OF SOLAR FLARES $72 As we rely more on satellites, communication systems and space research, the importance of space weather is increasing continuously. There are many space missions and ground based observatories providing continuous observation of the Sun at many different wavelengths to supply the demand for space weather forecast and research. All the forecasting strategies highly depend on experience of solar physicists and done manually. The results differ from observatories to observatories and subjective. There is a need for automated analysis of Sun and space weather forecasting. The solar activity is the driver of space weather. Thus it is important to be able to predict the violent eruptions such as coronal mass ejections and solar flares. In this book a hybrid system combining image processing and machine learning techniques for the automated short-term prediction of solar flares is presented. The system can also detect, group, and classify sunspots using solar images. The algorithms, implementation, and results are explained in this work. |

Ping G10 Golf Series (Ping G10 Drivers, fairway woods, G10 Hybrids )
Ping Golf is ready with its next round of woods and irons: the G10 Metal Wood series includes driver, fairway woods and hybrids; plus there are the G10 Irons. And along with the G10, Ping is also releasing the i10 irons.
The Ping equipment – available beginning Sept. 1 – leads this roundup of new stuff coming to pro shop shelves.
Ping G10 Drivers
With a cast body and fully machined 6-4 titanium face, the Ping G10 Driver has a taller face and a deeper (front to back) crown than previous Ping drivers.
Those elements, along with the driver’s thinner crown and face, compared to previous models, help Ping target the holy grail for driver designers: lower and deeper center of gravity, higher moment of inertia.
Some of the Ping tour pros have already switched to the G10 driver, including Chris DiMarco and Angel Cabrera.
Also available is a G10 Draw version. The draw bias is achieved with a quarter-inch more offset, and an internal weight pad that is positioned farther back and closer to the heel compared to the standard G10 driver.
The standard G10 driver is available in lofts of 7.5, 9, 10.5, 12 and 13.5 degrees; the G10 Draw driver in lofts of 9, 10.5, 12 and 13.5 degrees.
The Ping G10 fairway woods have lost their skirt. As Ping puts it, these clubs are “engineered with a crown that intersects the sole,” resulting in a skirtless design. That weight savings allows for other tricks by engineers to lower center of gravity and increase MOI.
These fairway woods feature a low-profile head with a shallow face, but a face that is longer heel-to-toe. These elements help the club perform better out of a wider variety of lies. A large weight pad on the sole helps deepen the CG, utilizing weight saved in the crown, face and hosel.
As with the driver, a G10 Draw version is also available. The draw bias is again achieved by moving the hosel forward, creating more offset, while moving the internal weight pad farther back and more toward the heel.
The standard Ping G10 fairway woods are available in lofts of 14, 15.5, 17, 18.5, 21.5 and 24.5 degrees. The Draw version comes in 15.5, 17, 18.5 and 21.5 degrees.
G10 Hybrids
Six lofts designed to replace mid- and long irons are available for the Ping G10 Hybrids, which feature a sloped-crown design from 17-4 stainless steel.

what club is more important a driver, or a hybrid?
I am going to buy a SQ Driver nike, but my hybrid sucks and I can’t really use it to well, but I already have a driver that was cheap. Should I go with the SQ Driver at an amazing 1/2 price off, or a hybrid. What club will improve my score the most?
lets put it this way. 10 out of 10 golfers have a driver in their bag. not nearly that many have hybrids. i don’t and i know many people that don’t either. the SQ is a very good driver and will improve your score more than a hybrid. try to adapt to using an iron or a wood instead of the hybrid
