The Bermuda Triangle (some call it the Devil’s Triangle) may be found on southeastern Atlantic coast of the United States. It became popular because of the reported number of lost shops, small boats, and aircraft. The three points of the “triangle” are Bermuda, Miami, Fla., and San Juan, Puerto Rico. However, the Bermuda Triangle is not a official name.

Brief History

The first report of a weird incidence was that of Christopher Columbus’ report of a compass malfunction and some sort of fire fell to the sky. There was also a report of a some sort of light on the horizon.

Theories

There have been many theories on what is causing this weird phenomenon but now proven.

1. There is methane hydrates on the continental shelves. Periodic methane eruptions may produce ship-sized bubbles or so much dissolved gas that the water loses buoyancy. It could sink ships immediately. It can pull planes down as well because the air becomes less dense.

2. The Gulf Stream is a chaotic area because of the unpredictable weather and water behavior. It can erase evidence of disaster.

3. They say that the Bermuda Triangle is only one of the two places on earth that a magnetic compass does point towards true north. It points to a magnetic north. Such inconsistency can cause error in navigation.

4. The topography of the ocean floor is also very inconsistent. It has some of the deepest trenches. Couple this with unpredictable weather spells danger.

5. There are a lot of human error involved. Crossing this part is really a stressful thing given the natural chaotic weather. Human error is not too far out in the list. Also, there are a large number of boats that travel between Florida’s Gold Coast and the Bahamas. These boats are too tiny and people running it are not knowledgeable.
