Titanium is a good material for people who play more consistently and who is looking for a lightweight driver to get more distance, while a stainless steel club will lend more weight to your swing, giving you more control on the descent.
Remember that you should always check a driver for the shaft length; don’t simply assume that your old driver’s shaft length will work for you. It is important to think about the shoes you will be wearing on the green to take your height into account. When you are testing the length of the shaft, check the length of your arms, your height, and the size of your swing to find one that is comfortable for you.
You’ll also need to decide if you want perimeter weighting on your club face. This allows you to have some extra weight around the toe and the sole and it can be very helpful if you happen to miss a shot. The extra weight will also help reduce the shock and help your ball fly straighter and with greater distance. You’ll find that the amount of extra weight you want will be a personal thing. For many golfers, too much perimeter weighting makes it harder to control, while some says it actually makes control more simple.

The traditional flex ratings include regular, stiff, senior, ladies and extra stiff, and it is a good idea to try all of these.

golf forging?
yea ive got mizuno mx 25s. great feel, playability with some forgiveness, its an all around great set of clubs. but i was lookin at there site and saw that they forge all of their clubs except for 1 set. Why, just for better quality. i luv mizuno clubs, and i cant believe those forged clubs dont attract as many golfers. i can see a reasoning of the lack of forgiveness (there clubs are more playable than most companies). also do you think its because they don’t have as many tour winners. Luke Donald is the only real good player for them, and he hasn’t done any thin this year, altho i hav him winning the british.
The forging process renders a softer alloy than that of a cast alloy. The end result is a soft metal and soft feel at impact. That’s it. The mx 25s are what are known as cavity-back irons. These irons are for the mid handicap player who is working on solid ball striking and beginning to work shots. Still forged they give a very soft feel but the cavity back is more forgiving than a blade style or muscle back design. This also gives you an extremely light response to dead on hits and a more violent response to toe, heel, or thin shots. This brings you to the next level of ball striking while not hindering you from working golf shots or losing progress you made with your starter set. Now the reason Mizuno forges all of their clubs is just because that is the type of clubs they make. They make expensive clubs for advanced players. Golden Bear makes cheap clubs for recreational players. Their clubs are cast. This is why you don’t see the Mizunos as much as the cheaper types. Do understand blade style iron players are in the minority anymore. The type of players that these style of clubs attract are few and far between and end up being distributed through Mizuno, Nike, Taylormade, and Cleveland to name a couple. I’m infact the only player i know that plays them in my circle of friends and I am certainly the only one with a 2 iron. Another big thing about not seeing them on tour is they ARE on tour but the other sponsors pay more to have their caddy carry the bag and play a different driver. That doesn’t mean they don’t play Mizuno blades. On the contrary you will find a lot of players that make that their sole iron set.
