A Beginner’s Guide to Discrete Mathematics $60.63 This introduction to discrete mathematics is aimed primarily at undergraduates in mathematics and computer science at the freshmen and sophomore levels. The text has a distinctly applied orientation and begins with a survey of number systems and elementary set theory. Included are discussions of scientific notation and the representation of numbers in computers. Lists are presented as an example of data structures. An introduction to counting includes the Binomial Theorem and mathematical induction, which serves as a starting point for a brief study of recursion. The basics of probability theory are then covered.Graph study is discussed, including Euler and Hamilton cycles and trees. This is a vehicle for some easy proofs, as well as serving as another example of a data structure. Matrices and vectors are then defined. The book concludes with an introduction to cryptography, including the RSA cryptosystem, together with the necessary elementary number theory, e.g., Euclidean algorithm, Fermat’s Little Theorem. Good examples occur throughout. At the end of every section there are two problem sets of equal difficulty. However, solutions are only given to the first set. References and index conclude the work. A math course at the college level is required to handle this text. College algebra would be the most helpful. |

A study in determining the essential factors in implementing academic success in a distinguished Title I school. $108 The objective of this qualitative case study was to determine the effective measures of how one particular Title I school succeeded in implementing academic success. The administrative team, the leadership team, teachers and parents were the participants involved in the study. Participants were selected on a voluntary basis and provided information according to their affiliation with the school. An interview questionnaire and an open-ended questionnaire were the instruments used to gather data. The study was divided into phases based on three research questions. Each phase provided a detailed summary from the administrative team, the leadership team, teachers, and parents of the results received from the interview questionnaire. A comparison table followed the summary to demonstrate similarities in participant responses. A bar graph concluded each phase with information received according to the open-ended questionnaire. The final phase in the study included CRCT scores and attendance performance documents to confirm the school’s good academic standing. The final result confirmed that competent leadership, effective instructional strategies, and valuable ways of maintaining success are the key factors in providing a successful learning environment for students. The study concluded with a list of leadership qualities, instructional strategies, and ways of maintaining academic success that can be used by similar Title I schools that are looking to improve in academic performance. |

Aeris Atmos AI Air Integrated Computer Console, With Compass & Quick Disconnect Upgrade ~Includes now FREE the Digital online class to get the most out of your dive computer. $699.95 Introducing the ATMOS ai, Aeris’ new air integrated console. The Atmos ai is a very small, compact console; yet, the information is displayed with large, easy to read digits. It is available with or without a compass; with or without a quick disconnect. Essentially, it is an ATMOS 2 with airtime remaining! The Air Time Remaining feature calculates current depth, tank pressure, your breathing rate, ascent time, and decompression status to tell you exactly how much time you can remain underwater. The ATMOS ai continually displays Air Time Remaining via a numerical bar graph in addition to cylinder pressure. You may also display Air Time Remaining in oversized digits at any time with the press of a button. Dive Time Remaining, like Air Time Remaining provides a ‘real’ number in minutes. This calculation combines Air Time Remaining, Nitrogen and Oxygen absorption, displaying whichever allows less time. Is it a good idea to check your computer before entering the water? You bet. Could you forget to activate your computer? Sure. The ATMOS ai features push-button or automatic activation, triggered by water contact. A benefit of push-button activation is easily verifying operation and cylinder pressure, but in case you forget, or simply choose not to activate your computer, it can be assimple as jumping in the water. The ATMOS ai features a variety of system and user-customized audible alarms, alerting you to situations that pose a potentialdanger, or simply serve as a convenient reminder. The ATMOS ai acts simply as an ‘Air’ computer until you tell it otherwise, whether that is this weekend or 2 years down the road. As your training and experience grow, the ATMOS ai is designed to grow with you, being easily programmed for Nitrox mixtures from 21% to 50%. Decompression theory can be trusted only as far as it has been demonstrated by actual test dive data. In 1987 a unique series of experiments were conducted by Diving Science and Technology (DSAT). An Introduction to Data Structures and Algorithms $99 Data structures and algorithms are presented at the college level in a highly accessible format that presents material with one-page displays in a way that will appeal to both teachers and students. The thirteen chapters cover: Models of Computation, Lists, Induction and Recursion, Trees, Algorithm Design, Hashing, Heaps, Balanced Trees, Sets Over a Small Universe, Graphs, Strings, Discrete Fourier Transform, Parallel Computation. Key features: Complicated concepts are expressed clearly in a single page with minimal notation and without the “clutter” of the syntax of a particular programming language; algorithms are presented with self-explanatory “pseudo-code.” • Chapters 1-4 focus on elementary concepts, the exposition unfolding at a slower pace. Sample exercises with solutions are provided. Sections that may be skipped for an introductory course are starred. Requires only some basic mathematics background and some computer programming experience. • Chapters 5-13 progress at a faster pace. The material is suitable for undergraduates or first-year graduates who need only review Chapters 1 -4. • This book may be used for a one-semester introductory course (based on Chapters 1-4 and portions of the chapters on algorithm design, hashing, and graph algorithms) and for a one-semester advanced course that starts at Chapter 5. A year-long course may be based on the entire book. • Sorting, often perceived as rather technical, is not treated as a separate chapter, but is used in many examples (including bubble sort, merge sort, tree sort, heap sort, quick sort, and several parallel algorithms). Also, lower bounds on sorting by comparisons are included with the presentation of heaps in the context of lower bounds for comparison-based structures. • Chapter 13 on parallel models of computation is something of a mini-book itself, and a good way to end a course. Convex Optimization & Euclidean Distance Geometry $62.95 Convex Analysis is the calculus of inequalities while Convex Optimization is its application. Analysis is inherently the domain of the mathematician while Optimization belongs to the engineer. In layman’s terms, the mathematical science of Optimization is the study of how to make a good choice when confronted with conflicting requirements. The qualifier Convex means: when an optimal solution is found, then it is guaranteed to be a best solution; there is no better choice. Any Convex Optimization problem has geometric interpretation. Conversely, recent advances in geometry and in graph theory hold Convex Optimization within their proofs’ core. This book is about Convex Optimization, convex geometry (with particular attention to distance geometry), and nonconvex, combinatorial, and geometrical problems that can be relaxed or transformed into convex problems. A virtual flood of new applications follows by epiphany that many problems, presumed nonconvex, can be so transformed. International Edition II |

E-model: Event-based graph data model theory and implementation . $69 The necessity of managing disparate data models is increasing within all IT areas. Emerging hybrid relational-XML systems are under development in this context to support both relational and XML data models. Typical hybrid systems are based on one type of database system, with support added to accommodate the other data model. However, there are ever-growing needs for adequate data models for texts and multimedia, which are applications that require proper storage, and their capability to coexist and collaborate with other data models is as important as that of a relational-XML hybrid model.;The problem is then whether relational, XML, or current hybrid database systems are flexible enough to accommodate additional text and multimedia data models. Although raw data type of texts involve simple characters, their document structures and relations between texts are not simple at all. Multimedia poses rather simple relations between data objects, but spatio-temporal variations in content complicate efforts to deal with this type. When multimedia and texts are merged for multimedia information service, then the complexity of content management rapidly exceeds the capabilities of even hybrid databases.;This work proposes a new data model named E-model that supports rich relations and reflects the dynamic nature of information. This E-model introduces abstract data typing objects and rules of relation that support: (1) the notion of time in object definition and relation, (2) multiple-type relations, (3) complex schema modeling methods using a relational directed acyclic graph, and (4) interoperation with popular data models.;Implementing a database system for a new data model takes good efforts for evaluation. The E-model structures first proposed in theories are materialized as database storage objects. To free the E-model from the back-end system, object identities are encapsulated in a unified data type named an e-node. Relations between sets of e-nodes conform to the |

Why and Where to Buy TI 83 Plus Graphing Calculators
If you’ve been looking to buy TI 83 Plus calculators, before you spend a fortune read this. I’ll share with you how you can get a brand new TI 83 Plus for the best price.
Benefits of the TI 83 Plus
The TI-83 Plus graphing calculator was designed in 1999 as an upgrade to the TI-83 and is one of the most popular graphing calculators worldwide. It uses a Zilog Z80 microprocessor[2] and 4 triple A batteries as well as a backup CR1616 or CR1620 battery. You can install Flash applications for math and science, spread sheet and text editing, day planners and organizers, and more – including games.
Who’s it For?
The TI 83 was designed mainly for high school students, although it’s also now used by some middle school students. It has all of the features of a scientific calculator in addition to sequential graphing, parametric and polar capabilities. There’s also an environment for matrix operations, on-calculator programming and financial calculations. It does not have symbolic manipulation – for that you’d need the TI 89.
Programming is fairly simple and easy, using a language similar to basic PC language. It can also be connected to a laptop or computer for Assembly programs.
Where to Buy TI 83 Plus Calculators
The best way to buy TI 83 Plus graphing calculators is online since buying them in a store is most likely to be more expensive. However, you could try pawn shops in your area for a good quality used one.
If you’re buying online, make sure it’s from a reputable online store and take into account any extra shipping costs and taxes etc. It’s best to buy from a company based in your own country since shipping will usually be cheaper – if not free.
You could buy a used TI 83 Plus, but it’s really worth checking out the various deals on new ones online first as it’s very possible to find a brand new calculator for only a few more dollars – and of course it will come with a guarantee.
