Stiff Shaft?
I am a freshman in high school and i am considering switching the shaft on my driver, three wood, and hybrid from Regular Flex to Stiff, should i do it? My irons are steel shafts, they are the Nike NDS. My driver and three wood are the Nike Sasquatch and my hybrid is a nike slingshot. Should i do it? If so, what shaft should i get. I usually drive the ball 225-245, and shoot in the low 40′s on nine holes. Please help. Tryouts are only two weeks away, i want to be on the freshman team. Also, i ocassionally play a small cut but have fixed the problem, the pro at my course told me my shafts bend too much, but my dad said no. What do you think.
i went to golf galaxy and with a stiff shaft had a swing speed of 113 MPH
Judging from your distance you are on the line between reg. and stiff. This may help. If you want more distance, go softer. If you want more accuracy, go stiffer. Look for stiff driver shafts that are around 55 to 60 grams. Also, go with tip torque around 3.5 or higher. These specs will give you a stiff shaft, with higher launch and more distance.
