Brand New Style Titleist 2009 AP1 Irons Review

The Titleist 2009 AP1 Irons comes with the True Temper Dynamic Gold High Launch Stock Shaft which is a mid-weight shaft with a lower kick point. If graphite is more your flavor, the Aldila VS Proto-T 75 made exclusively for Titleist is the stock shaft and both come standard with the Titleist Tour Velvet Rubber made by Golf Pride. This iron set, classic and playable, is something you should really give a try in the golf shop.

These AP1 irons offer the advantages of the highly regarded AP2 in a model that offers the mid handicapper a little more forgiveness. AP stands for Advanced Performance and the new AP1 is a revamped version of the previous model which has been so popular over the past couple of years. Titleist have made three crucial changes that they think have really improved the performance of the Titleist 2009 AP1 Irons.

The first big change is the livelier feel which is the result of a slightly thinner clubface and a comoulded aluminium backplate which combines with a tungsten insert in the sole of the club and Titleist’s new Tuned Feel System to provide the feel you would expect from the Advanced Performance series.

With a higher MOI and a little more forgiveness the revamped AP1 also offers a much improved level of playability and performance. The Titleist 2009 AP1 Irons also feature much improved short irons with consumer feedback dictating a shorter clubhead and a thinner topline meaning Titleist’s classic good looks are present throughout the set. Dual hosel lengths throughout the set make the launch trajectory very consistent with the shorter hosels making the long irons much easier to hit. The AP1 features the Nippon NS Pro 105T shaft or Aldilla graphite shaft.

When used by the right type of golfer, these irons are fantastic. The Titleist 2009 AP1 Irons are a solid “tweener” club, which means they’re designed for a mid to low handicapper. Players looking for a true game improvement iron should look elsewhere. TheseAP1 irons offer a mid – high ball flight and decent forgiveness. Players looking to better control their ball flight through knock downs and shot shaping should be able to do so with these.

we’re talking golf clubs… the shaft is aldila nv-hl60 for cobra transition s, mid kick, lite flex. and the shaft tip style is???

if i am not mistaken i am almost 100% sure it is a taper. hope this helped
