Black Box: The Complete Original Black Sabbath (1970-1978) $99.98 One can make the case that the Beatles, while the most important band of all time, wasn’t the most influential. Decades after Black Sabbath laid down the commandments of heavy metal–lyrically, not for the squeamish; musically, dynamic and resolutely heavy–their impact remains improbably undiminished. One needed only to hear the first notes of the eponymous track on their eponymous 1970 debut to … |

Excerpt: The military history of Japan is characterised by a long period of feudal wars, followed by domestic stability, and then rampant Imperialism. It culminates with Japan’s defeat by the Allies in World War II. Since then, Japan’s constitution has prohibited the use of military force to wage war against other countries. Unless one counts the Allied Occupation following World War II, the Japanese main islands have never been successfully invaded in recorded history. Recent archaeological research has uncovered traces of wars as far back as the Jmon period (ca. 10,000 – 300 BC) between the various tribes existing on the Japanese Archipelago. Some theorists believe that shortly after the Yayoi period (ca. 300 BC – 250 AD) horse riders from the Korean Peninsula invaded southern Kysh, then spread to all the way to northern Honsh. This is when horse-riding and iron tools were first introduced to the islands. Near the end of the Jmon period (ca. 300 BC), villages and towns became surrounded by moats and wooden fences due to increasing violence within or between communities. So… More: |

Excerpt: Padula Charterhouse , in Italian Certosa di Padula (or Certosa di San Lorenzo di Padula ), is a large and famous Carthusian monastery, or charterhouse, located in the town of Padula , in the Cilento National Park (near Salerno ) in Southern Italy . It is a World Heritage site .The monastery is the second largest charterhouse in Italy after the one in Parma . Its building history covers 450 years, but the principal parts of the buildings are in Baroque style. It is a very large monastery, comprising 51,500 m² (12.7 acres), with 320 rooms and halls.History Padula Charterhouse was founded by Tommaso di San Severino on 27 April 1306 on the site of an earlier monastery. It is dedicated to Saint Lawrence , and its architectural structure supposedly recalls the griddle-iron upon which the saint was burnt alive. The monastery has the biggest cloister in the world, covering 12,000 m² (2.97 acres) and surrounded by 84 columns. A famous spiral staircase of white marble inside an annex leads to the large library.According to the strict Carthusian distinction between contemplation and work, there are two distinct places for these practices: on the one hand the peaceful cloisters, the library with its fine Vietri ceramic tiled floor, the chapels decorated with fine inlaid marble works and the cloister orchards; and on the other hand the large kitchen, the cellars with their enormous wine vats, the laundries, and the huge external yards, where there were people working in the stables, ovens, stores, and at the olive oil mill. The yards were used for productive activities and for trade between the charterhouse and the external world. The monastery also houses the archaeological museum of Western Lucania, which preserves a collection of all the finds unearthed in the excavations at |

Excerpt: Bielsko-Biaa ( listen) (German : Bielitz-Biala ; Czech : Bílsko-Blá ) is a city in southern Poland with 175,513 inhabitants (June 2009).Bielsko-Biaa is composed of two former cities on opposite banks of the Biaa River , Bielsko and Biaa , amalgamated in 1951. Situated in the Silesian Voivodeship (since 1999), the city was previously capital of Bielsko-Biaa Voivodeship (19751998). Bielsko-Biaa is one of the most important cities of the Beskidy Euroregion . Main city of Bielsko Industrial Region (Polish : Bielski Okrg Przemysowy ).History Main article: History of Bielsko-Biaa Both parts of the name stem from “biel” or “biaa”, which means “white” in Polish.Between 1933 and 1938 an archaeological team discovered remains of a fortified settlement in what is now Stare Bielsko (Old Bielsko) district of the city. The settlement was dated to the 12th – 14th centuries. Its dwellers manufactured iron from ore and specialized in smithery .The current center of the town was probably developed as early as the first half of the 13th century. At that time a castle (which still survives today) was built on a hill.In the second half of the 13th century, the Piast Dukes of Opole invited German settlers to land between Silesia and Lesser Poland in order to colonize the Silesian Beskids . Nearby settlements west of the Biaa River were Nikelsdorf, Kamitz, Alt-Bielitz (now Stare Bielsko), Batzdorf and Kurzwald. Nearby settlements east of the river Bialka were Kunzendorf, Alzen and Wilmesau. Nearby settlements in the mountains were Lobnitz and Bistrai. After the partition of the Duchy of Oppeln in 1281, Bielsko passed to the Dukes of Cieszyn (Teschen) . The town was first documented in 1312 when a Duke of Cieszyn granted a town charter . From 1457 the Biaa River was the |

1610 In Science $14.14 Purchase includes free access to book updates online and a free trial membership in the publisher’s book club where you can select from more than a million books without charge. Excerpt: Io (pronounced , or as Greek ) is the innermost of the four Galilean moons of the planet Jupiter and, with a diameter of 3,642 kilometres (2,263 mi), the fourth-largest moon in the Solar System. It was named after Io, a priestess of Hera who became one of the lovers of Zeus. With over 400 active volcanoes, Io is the most geologically active object in the Solar System. This extreme geologic activity is the result of tidal heating from friction generated within Io’s interior as it is pulled between Jupiter and the other Galilean satellitesEuropa, Ganymede and Callisto. Several volcanoes produce plumes of sulfur and sulfur dioxide that climb as high as 500 km (310 mi) above the surface. Io’s surface is also dotted with more than 100 mountains that have been uplifted by extensive compression at the base of the moon’s silicate crust. Some of these peaks are taller than Earth’s Mount Everest. Unlike most satellites in the outer Solar System, which are mostly composed of water ice, Io is primarily composed of silicate rock surrounding a molten iron or iron sulfide core. Most of Io’s surface is characterized by extensive plains coated with sulfur and sulfur dioxide frost. Io’s volcanism is responsible for many of that satellite’s unique features. Its volcanic plumes and lava flows produce large surface changes and paint the surface in various shades of red, yellow, white, black, and green, largely due to allotropes and compounds of sulfur. Numerous extensive lava flows, several longer than 500 kilometres (311 mi) in length, also mark the surface. These volcanic processes have given rise to a comparison of the visual appearance of Io’s surface to a pizza. The materials produced by this volcanism provide material for Io’s thin, patchy atmosphere and J… More: |

Chapters: Settlements Established in 1646, States and Territories Established in 1646, Yonkers, New York, New London, Connecticut, Bremen, East Marion, New York, Reading Blue Coat School, Arizpe, Saugus Iron Works. Excerpt: Reading Blue Coat School, Sonning-on-Thames Reading Blue Coat School is a boys’ independent school (and co-educational in the 6th form) in Holme Park in the village of Sonning , in the English county of Berkshire . It is situated beside the River Thames, and was established in 1646 by Richard Aldworth, who named it “Aldworth’s Hospital”.History Established in 1646 at the height of the English Civil War , a wealthy London merchant, Richard Aldworth of Stanlake Park , left the Corporation of Reading the sum of £4,000, the proceeds of which were to be devoted to “the education and upbringing of twenty poor male children, being the children of honest, religious poor men in the town of Reading.” From this bequest, which in 17th century terms was quite substantial, originated the Aldworth’s Hospital charity school now better known as the Reading Blue Coat School.Aldworth, who had been a governor of Christ’s Hospital in London, modelled the new foundation on his former school, the boys being required to wear the Bluecoat attire of gown, yellow stockings, and buckled shoes. Aldworth s Will further stipulated that the Master of the new school should be “an honest, Godly and learned man” who for his “paines” would receive a stipend of £30 a year. His duties were to include the instruction of reading, writing and ciphering and to “teach the Catechism in the points of Christian Religion.”The Talbot The School was originally accommodated in an old building situated at the corner of Silver Street and London Street known as ‘The Talbot’ in one of the oldest parts |
Iron Club

Control Your Golf Shot with the Right Golf Irons
One of the most important aspects to golf is choosing the appropriate clubs to carry in your set. The quality and efficiency of your club set is largely going to be determined by the various irons that you have. Only through carefully choosing the right clubs are you going to be able to hit the ball farther, more accurately and ultimately improve upon your game.
Irons are aptly named because the heads of the clubs are made up of metal, which historically has been cast-iron. Even though wood drivers are currently made out of metal as opposed to wood, irons have been exclusively made out of metal for as long as the game of golf has been a sport. Irons are intended for use on the fairway, in between driving the ball, and putting on the green. There are several different types of irons that you should choose, depending on your style, skill level, and athletic ability.
Some individuals recommend that beginner golfers use iron clubs that are characterized by a cavity back style. It has also been suggested that golfers who only play recreationally should choose this type of style as well. Cavity back or perimeter weighted irons have a hollowed out club head that makes it much easier to consistently strike the ball in comparison to traditional muscle back irons. This club can be a great help to players as it makes it easier to get greater distance on the ball due to the clubs extra weight.
More experienced players will typically use a muscle back style, or blade style iron. These irons do not have a cavity and provide the user with a stronger, fuller stroke. A muscle back iron also gives a player more strength behind his or her shots.
It is also important to understand the basics behind irons, so that you can purchase a set that will provide the strongest stroke and greatest distance. A “traditional” set typically has a combined total of eight irons, ranging from a 3 iron through a pitching wedge. The different irons are identified by their number, or by a PW as in the case of a pitching wedge.
As the irons increase in number their shaft length decreases and the loft that they subsequently produce rises. This means that a three iron will have less of a loft and a longer shaft than a four iron, and so on. It is also important to remember that there is a yardage gap between the irons, which equals to roughly about 10 to 15 yards. For example, three irons produce a shot that is 10 or 15 yards longer than four irons. As you are moving through your set to the shorter and loftier clubs, a steeper trajectory should emerge as well. Shorter and more lofted clubs will mean that your shots will rise at a steeper angle and will also fall at a steeper angle.
Once you understand how the different types of irons work, you can start to pick out the irons that will benefit your game. Keep in mind that it is not always important to use the iron that will give you the farthest distance. i.e., long irons. Often times you will want to use your mid irons-5, 6, or 7 that will aid you in hitting shorter shots. This is why it is important to buy a full set of well rounded clubs, so that you have a club ready for any situation that might arise.
In some situations you will need to purchase golf clubs separately. The 1 iron and 2 iron clubs are not normally included in a typical set of clubs. The 1 iron and 2 iron clubs have long shaft, a thin club head, and do not provide much loft. This means that a beginning golfer probably is not going to want to learn with these types of clubs because they are typically not suited for novice players. Therefore, it is best to start with a general set of clubs, and then purchase 1 and 2 irons once you start to hone your skills. Most experts also advise that beginners and recreational players stay away from the 3 and 4 irons, and use fairway woods or utility clubs instead.
Skill and commitment are important for improving your golf game, but so is having the right set of tools. Also take advantage of tips online or from your local golf pro. There is plenty of great information available which can point you in the right direction. With the right set of clubs, and some good advice, you can discover the weaknesses in your game, and improve upon them. In time, you should be able to control the ball with a much higher degree of accuracy while continuing to build upon your golfing skills, all the while having a great time out on the course and at the driving range.

Information about 6 iron golf club?
Hey, I was wondering if i could have some information on the 6 iron gold club
1) How tall is it?
2) How heavy?
3) What angle does the club make the ball go at
4) What part of play do you use the 6 iron (bunkers, green etc)
THANKYOU
There aren’t any set-in-stone rules about this, since manufacturers are in the business of selling distance. This is accomplished by either making the lofts stronger (less than “normal”) and/or making the club longer. There’s also a huge variance in shaft (75g-135g) and grips (25g-70+g) to allow a “true” answer (see below). Same for launch angle: this is dependent on the individual’s ballstriking ability, where it’s played in the stance, and the individual’s swing characteristics (flat swing = lower LA, upright swing = higher LA). At any rate, I’ll give you the average of each, and a short (hopefully) follow up for each:
1. The “modern standard” 6i is 37.5″ long. As I just mentioned, though, it’s possible for it to be longer, or shorter.
2. The 6i head, on average, is 263g. Again, this is a fluctuating answer, because there are many different shaft and grip weights, which would give multiple differing answers for total weight. The “accepted standard” for steel shafts is 125g, and the grip’s AS is 52g. That makes for a total of 440g.
3. I’m hesitant to really answer this question, because of all the variables involved. Personal preference, swing characteristic, loft of the club (which isn’t always the same, depending on the manufacturer)… there’s a lot that affects the initial launch angle of any club. If you held a gun to my head, I’m going to go with 18-20 degrees- but I’m adding a big asterisk to it.
4. You can use the 6i from bunkers, but I’d reserve those for longer fairway bunkers- not the ones near the green. You can use it off the tee, in the fairway or rough as well- so long as you know how far you hit it and apply it appropriately. I hit my 6i 163 yards, but I’m not “average” (not “good” or “great”, either, but that’s another story…). 150 yards is a solid average for men, maybe 135-140 for women.
