It’s Okay to Lie in Business

Yes indeed it is okay to lie in business. People in business have been lying for people to join, consume and donate for as long as people have been on this earth. There are two kinds of liars in business to get what they want from you. The first is the scammer who lies to get your money and give you nothing in return. The second is the salesperson, who lies to get your business with every intention of following through.

We all know the first liar is not good for anyone, not even the liar. It’s the second liar that we are going to talk about, the salesman. Most salespeople that lie, lie for your own good and they tell perfectly acceptable lies. Some are so good you don’t even know you been lied to.  If you knew you had been lied to you would be so appalled that even if it was going to save your life you would cut off your nose despite your face.

I read somewhere, and I wish I could call it, but I can’t, that when you are building a business, people don’t want to know what you are going to do when you get there, they want to know what you are doing since you’re there. 

I know that is a mouth full, but allow me to explain.  Wal-Mart is my perfect example; I use it when I am talking about business because everyone knows Wal-Mart across all lines. 

Let’s say that the brain child of Wal-Mart come to you and ask you for $5 to build the biggest and best shopping center around equipped with anything you could possibly need in a one stop shop and for your help, you will receive that $5 back plus more than you ever though possible.

You would curl your lips, turned your back and go to K-Mart. Why? Because Wal-Mart is talking about what they will do when it’s built and K-Mart is already doing it. 

People just won’t support small business right off by shopping or joining because they are just getting started and there are other businesses out there that are already doing it.  So these businesses have to lie to you and tell you what they are doing to get your support for which they fully intend to follow through but they can’t move forward without your support.  If they tell you what they intend to do going forward, it says to the consumer, talk to me when you’re done. 

How many times have you gone to a night spot because the music from the outside sounds really good and you peak your head in the door and there is only the bartender and one customer at the bar so you turn around and walk away? 

How many times have you seen a small grocer across the street from a major grocery store and you went to the larger chain because of all the cars in the parking lot?  You can’t say it is because the prices are cheaper if you never went into the small store.  It probably is but if you never visited, how would you know what the small store offers that can compete with the big chain across the street? 

I got an email once from a business selling client leads.  I went to visit the website and I was appalled by this website.  I can’t imagine anyone shopping this business.  Apparently they have a lot of money and they want you to know it. Unfortunately, they forget who they got that money from; you. 

They said that you can’t trust anyone else if they have to use PayPal or Google checkout because if a company can’t afford a real merchant account, it must be a scam.  The last I checked PayPal and Google are both reputable companies so why wouldn’t you be reputable using them?

This company proclaims that if others don’t have the right kind of software that sends you leads in this type of format that they offer, be wary. They claim that if you get your leads on a spreadsheet then the leads are probably not very good because that company obviously can’t afford sophisticated equipment like they can. 

Let me tell you.  I have done various job assignments for Wells Fargo Bank throughout the years and Wells Fargo uses a DOS system that Wells Fargo has been using since the first computer.  Their philosophy; if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Wells Fargo feels that if it is still working and serving the purpose, it is a waste of good money to invest into a brand new system when that money could be allocated to better uses; like raises for employees. 

So, you see where I am going here. If you don’t want a lie, then give it a try.

What happens when a woman lies that the father of her child is making more money than he really is making.?

Basically she is suing the father of her child for not paying child support, when he has. And now she is asking for more money and lying saying he makes more than that and sucking out more than half of his paycheck. Plus she never lets him see his child, when it is known he wants to be in her life. What the heck can he do?

The court never accepts the word of one litigant over the other. All money matters have to be backed up with proof. Income tax statements, W-2 forms, weekly pay stubs all have to show that both the parties may or may not be working and what their gross and net pays are. The reason they want to know the gross as well as the net is because a deduction for credit union is not a legitimate deduction when it comes to determining what amount is available for support of a child. Neither is a vacation club deduction.

She can file a petition to modify the support at any prudent time and the paper trail will tell the story. And if you are working under the table, and she brings proof to the court that that is so, then you will be required to pay even more.

If you want to see your child you can file a Petition for Partial Custody and then the court will hear how you want to see your child. Have you been sending the child a card on their birthday? What attempts have you made to speak with the child? Make sure that you have proof that you have made attempts .. not just your say so. The court will make a determination as to your fitness to see the child and if you are not a danger to the child. Once a court order is made, the mother of the child cannot prevent you from seeing the child or she will be held in contempt.

You do not need an attorney to file a Petition for Partial Custody. But if you don’t even make an effort to do this, then you don’t really want to see your child and you’ll only be pouting because you can’t see the child.

A parent is supposed to be a responsible adult. If you want to see your child you have to be aggressive and proactive. Do something other than whine about it.
