Mizuno Mp-52 Irons Review (Ii)

Whether the Mizuno MP-52 Irons good or not, you may not believe me, so let us to ask for the golfers for opinions:

I have played Mizuno’s for the past 12 years and recently I’ve played the Mizuno MP-57 Irons‘s the last two seasons. The 57′s are a great club for good players. If you are a 9 to 14 with a day job they can be a bit of a challenge, especially in the mid to longer irons. The 52′s are a great compromise for the golfer that wants the look, feedback, and feel of a forging but needs a little more forgiveness in the mid and long irons. I also think that the consistency in ball striking might be better, but this is probably due to the increased forgiveness of the 52′s which I personally need.

I’ve recently switched from the Titleist AP1 to the Mizuno MP-52 Irons, Rifle Project X 5.0, I’ve played Hogans, titleist, Ping you name it I’ve played them all. But the looks and feel of the Mizuno forgings are the best. I’ve played a few rounds with them and then had the lofts and lies adjusted, I’ll post again after a couple more rounds. What I must say about the 52’2 Is that they are the best feeling golf irons I have ever hit, yes you do have to have e decent swing (9.5 index)but a mid handicaper could play these. And the looks wow…. there never was a nicer iron. What a great club from Mizuno.

Review of Mizuno MP-52 Irons (I)

About the Author

Can you please compare the Nike CCI forged irons to the Mizuno MP57?

So I have my options narrowed down to 2 iron sets. I have hit both at Golfsmith 3 days in a row and I STILL cannot decide which iron set to get. I hit both of them well, and both felt close in feel on both sweet spot and mis hits. Price is about the same because I plan on buying used on Ebay.

So can you guys who know more about equipment than I do compare these 2 irons? Which ones are more forgiving as far as forgiveness goes with these players irons.

I am stewing more than I need to be about which ones to get!

Thanks a ton!

I like the Mizuno irons in general and I have hit both of these clubs and would buy the Mizuno. But the old guy is right buy what feels best. If you were buying based on build quality and best materials then Mizuno beats Nike hands down as far the forging process and material their heads are made of. Look close at the tight grain structure in in the Mizuno and overall attention to detail and machining. When I hit the CCI they felt a bit dull and unbalanced. I’ve tried and purchased a lot of golf clubs over the years and currently own Clevelands but I had a set of Mizuno T-zoids which were my second favorite next to my current set. As far as forgiveness it’s probably a toss up. If you aren’t a real consistent ball striker you might be better off looking at something else. There are plenty of forged irons out there that will hit it a bit farther and give you little help in the process.
