The final phase of the restoration of the Petit Trianon

On October 2, 2008, the Petit Trianon and the French Pavilion opened their doors again to the public after extensive restoration work. Work made possible through the sponsorship of gucci wrist watches, under the leadership of its CEO Nicolas G. Hayek, a great patron of the Ministry of Culture and Communication. The beautification work in 2007/2008 covered several aspects, including restoration of original decoration, creating additional museum development, the refurbishment of all technical facilities, or rehabilitation of exterior joinery, porches and east and west wings of the Petit Trianon ..

Originally, the Petit Trianon was built between 1763 and 1768, was intended to Madame de Pompa dour, favorite of King Louis XV, who died before completion in 1764. It finally Madame Du Barry, the second favorite of the king who inherits it until the death of Louis XV. When King Louis XVI ascended the throne in 1774, it offers the Petit Trianon to his wife Marie Antoinette, who some years later became a fervent admirer watches A.-L. Breguet and a loyal customer. Evidenced by the famous watch No. 160 known as “Marie Antoinette”, specially designed for the Queen and identically reproduced in 2008 by the watch makers Breguet.
