I had three male gerbils OR SO I THOUGHT. It turns out there was a female gerbil and they did it and had 3 babies. Do you have any idea what they will look like, or act? FWI I’m not a breeder I had no idea that there was a female.
Genetics will determine everything.
Color will become apparent around day two/three in the sense that dark colored pups will begin to darken. By days six through nine you should begin to see more apparent coloring, even fur. There is no way to predict as colors can be inherited from mom, dad, or relatives – and they won’t necessarily be all the same color.
As for behavior, you can never tell. I wouldn’t be surprised if they develop behavioral (or even health) issues because chances are the adults are all from the same litter. My friend, who now owns 19 gerbils and does rehab/rescue, had the same thing happen. Two pups from a sister/brother mating – one had to have a tumor removed and the other keeps de-clanning from his cage mates and may have to be kept solo. Can’t say for sure it’s a result of inbreeding but could be.
