cleveland vas plus irons?
i just picked up a used set off of the internet. i was wondering about what year these clubs came out? i hit some balls at the range and i have alot more luck then with my old sports authority set. anyone else use these clubs that is a descent player? i heard they hit straight but are a little shorter then other iron sets. also what would be a good cleaning agent to remove dirt and the stuff from the astro turf from the club faces without removing the paint in the grooves?
The VAS irons were unique when produced where they head shape is different and the leading edge is forward to supposedly help golfers with solid contact. If you don’t mind the unique look (they really look totally different than a conventional iron).
The distance they go is partially the loft of each club – the game improvement irons tend to have higher lofts to help get the ball in the air higher which would mean shorter distance but if your swing speed is good that won’t be a problem.

As for cleaning – you should NOT use a steel or metal brush. You can use a bucket with warm water and a little bit of dish washing liquid and a plastic bristled brush or even an old towel. I usually put all of my clubs in the warm water and let them sit for about 5 min and then pull them out one at a time and wipe/brush them clean.
The green stuff comes off if you scratch it with your finger nail or the plastic bristle brush.
