Saltwater Fishing Rigs

Saltwater fishing can be an exciting and adventurous activity to do. If you are a beginner, you can start fishing from the beach with basic tackle and some saltwater rigs. There are four different kinds of saltwater fishing rigs.

The two-hook bottom rig is the most versatile saltwater fishing rig that is easy to use, since you can start with an arm’s length of 30- to 50-pound monofilament and tie four 2- to 3-inch dropper loops 3 to 4 inches apart. Then you attach a sinker to the bottom loop, a hook to each of the two middle loops and the line that extends from your fishing reel to the top loop.

If you plan to fish a larger fish, you should use a 50- to 100- pound test leader, a snap swivel, two three-way swivels, and a regular swivel. When you use this fishing equipments, you tie a 6- to 8-inch of leader between the snap swivel and one of the three-way swivels and then from the second eye of the three-way, you attach an 8- to 10-inch piece of leader and tie on the second three-way.
