Taylormade Superfast
Taylormade Superfast

Yesterday i made a decision on Taylormade Burner SuperFast D

I  am a  golfer for many years. i have tried callaway  , mizuno , nike and so on. but i find that the taylormade is my best love . yesterday i bought  Taylormade Burner SuperFast Driver 2010. really  it  is  not let me  down. i love it  so  much.

1.The technology of the Taylormade Burner SuperFast Driver 2010

TaylorMade’s constant technology and innovation push has it’s share of supporters. And why shouldn’t it? The r7 line was one of the most successful in history. Even last year, a number of people spotted Retief Goosen playing the r7 SuperQuad, even in the midst of TaylorMade’s massive R9 marketing push. The Burner line has also historically been extremely successful, thanks in part to incorporating a healthy amount of forgiveness at an affordable price. So how does TaylorMade continue to build on such a solid pair of drivers? Read on to find out!

Burner SuperFast Driver
What makes the new Burner SuperFast different than its previous iterations? For starters, TaylorMade put it on the golf club equivalent of the Subway diet, making it 14 grams lighter than the ‘07 and ‘09 Burners. Why shed the weight? Quite simply, a lighter club leads to greater clubhead speed (discount golf clubs )through the hitting zone, which can generate higher ball speeds and longer distances off the tee.

The weight isn’t the only factor playing into swinging this club faster. By using simple aerodynamics, TaylorMade was able to increase the rate in which the head cuts through the air (via the reduction in drag). While doing this, they somehow found a way to increase the size of the clubface by 14% over last year’s Burner. The clubface now spans 4,500 square millimeters. The extreme MOI of this driver means that you’ll get a great deal of forgiveness across that large face.

In an effort to further reduce the overall weight of the club, TaylorMade used the ultra-light Matrix Ozik Xcon 4.8 shaft. Not only is the shaft extremely light, it is also tip-soft, meaning that it will help the club produce more ball speed, with more spin and a higher launch, all of which can lead to greater distances off the tee.

Continuing with the concept of faster swing speed through the overall reduction of weight, the new Winn Lite grip tops off the Burner SuperFast. While weighing only 30 grams (14 grams lighter than Burner ’09′s grip), the Winn Lite manages to maintain the same feel of the previous stock grips.

The Burner SuperFast also makes use of the Dual-Crown technology, which has been a major component of the Burner drivers for a couple of years now. The Dual-Crown technology effectively helps relocate the center of gravity low and deep, further promoting a higher launch and an increase in spin.

TaylorMade states that the larger face is important because the average player is going to have a harder time consistently hitting the sweet spot with such a long club – the Burner SuperFast is 46.5″ long, a full inch and a half longer than “standard” and two inches longer than the average driver length on the PGA Tour. Not to be Debbie Downer here, but perhaps someone should point out that shorter clubs are more controllable and better contact is a great way to add distance, too.

Among the other changes, the Burner SuperFast’s face increases the bulge and roll design to more effectively maximize forgiveness on off-center contact. Also contributing to the forgiving nature of this club is the Inverted Cone Technology, which has been found on TaylorMade drivers for quite a while now. In a nutshell, the Inverted Cone Technology promotes a faster ball speed, even when contact is made outside the sweet spot

Options and Availability
In addition to the men’s version there is also a ladies Burner SuperFast on the way, which will make use of a more feminine color scheme. There will be three lofts available – 9.5, 10.5, and HT, along with five shaft flex options ranging from Ladies to X-Stiff. Look for them to hit your nearest retailer in mid-February at a price of $299.

Millions of Americans have made a New Year’s resolution to lose weight, and so has TaylorMade. In mid-February, you’ll be able to get your hands on the new Burner SuperFast driver, which weighs 14 grams less than its predecessor.

The 460cc head of the Burner SuperFast is sleeker and more aerodynamic than the previous Burner driver, allowing it to slip through the air more efficiently and help you swing the club faster. At the same time, the face of the SuperFast is the largest TaylorMade has ever produced, which should help maintain ball speed across a larger hitting area and increase forgiveness

The Burner SuperFast comes standard with a 46.5-inch Matrix Ozik XCon 4.8 shaft, which is both extremely light and soft in the tip. That combination should help launch drives on a higher trajectory with more spin, which should improve carry distance for slower-swinging players. (Fast-swinging players benefit from a driver that launches the ball high with less spin.)

Even the Winn grip on the Burner SuperFast is light, tipping the scales at just 30 grams.

2.Some reviews about the driver

Most of the features that make the TaylorMade Burner SuperFast a virtual hot rod among drivers (Dual Crown Technology, aerodynamic clubhead design and an ultra-thin clubface) are also present in the SuperFast TP. The Tour Preferred model has a slightly more open and shallower face than the standard SuperFast, and it also features a heavier Tour Velvet grip. Still, the SuperFast TP is one of the fleetest drivers in TaylorMade’s arsenal, thanks to a longer than normal shaft (46 inches) and an aggressively shaped clubhead design. The curved crown around the front and heel of the club helps reduce drag, increasing clubhead speed by up to 2 mph over the ’09 Burner TP.

A dual crown, with the smaller of the two crowns on top, allows extra weight to be pulled back low and deep in the head to increase carry and distance. An expanded face area (just over 4,000 square millimeters) and 460cc head also boost confidence. The Superfast TP comes with a Matrix HD6 65-gram shaft (to promote a more piercing ball flight) and is finished entirely in black, similar to the R9 Super

What drivers do you recommend?

I currently have a Nike Dymo2 Str8-fit. I hate this driver. I get no feel whatsoever from this club, and I lost yardage and accuracy. I got better performance and feel out of my old Taylormade 320. Needless to say, I’m staying away from Nike drivers. I was looking at the Taylormade superfast and r9. What do you think of these? Also, if you have any suggestions, keep the clubs under like 250 because I’m 14 and do not plan on spending outrageous amounts on a driver

It may be more a function of the shaft and grip than the head that’s effecting your feel. If the shaft’s too stiff or has too much torque and/or the grip’s too harsh (like a corded model), or the balance point of the club is too high and/or the face is too open/closed… those can definitely make for a club that doesn’t feel right. It also works in reverse: too soft a flex, too spongy of a grip and/or a balance point that’s too low can effect feel.

Now, I hope I don’t sound like I’m coming down on you (because I’m not), but there really isn’t anything “wrong” with Nike drivers. They, along with the Taylormade’s, Callaway’s, Titleists, etc., are all made in the same 10-12 foundries by the same people with the same quality control standards in China and Taiwan. However, golf equipment is a very subjective thing. Some people will only game Nike’s, some will never pick up a Callaway… that sort of thing. If you really don’t like a Nike, that’s your right- it sounds like there’s going to be a mental roadblock from here on out (which, you wouldn’t be the first person to have that happen).

But where do you go from here? I sound like a broken record, but it’s true: get fit for your driver. Don’t just go to a store and start smacking balls around in the launch monitor until you find one that performs better than the others. You need to go somewhere where you can really get into it. Swap shafts, try different lengths and flexes, try different face angles, maybe try different grips (if you can)… Don’t go with what’s “the best of what’s there”, get the one that’s hands down the best for YOU. You do that, you’ll find one that feels (“feel” is subjective, and is the most abused marketing term in golf) perfect to you.
