Experience Versus Obsolescence: Essays on Vintage Human Capital. $74.37 Used – The premium on experience in the labor market has risen in recent decades in industrialized countries, and so have dispersion and turbulence of earnings. Chapter 1 documents these facts in a data set of German workers. To explain the observed changes, I combine an infinite-horizon version of Ben-Porath’s (1967) model of human-capital accumulation with a vintage structure as in Chari and Hopenhayn (1991). Great Golf $4.22 A century and a half of golf instruction, 127 great essays, 96 of the sport’s best players, teachers, and writers Nearly 150 years have passed since H. B. When given care, your furniture will last a long time-and something as simple as replacing the rocking chair cushions will give your glider new life. But if you’re unsure of how to replace and take care of your rocking chair’s padding, here are some quick instructions to keeping your furniture looking new for years to come.
First off, when replacing your rocker’s cushions, you’ll want to consider the chair’s use and location. If your rocking chair is outdoors on a patio, you’ll want something that can withstand some abuse from the weather if you plan on leaving it outside all the time. If indoors, you’ll probably be looking for a cushion with comfort in mind, while still keeping it cheap and affordable.
Rocking chair cushions are made out of various kinds of fabrics, but the most common are foam, feather and fiber. Pads that are foam are generally more durable and help support your weight effectively. Other cushion fillings, like feather and fiber, can shift over time making the cushions appear lumpy and/or flat. Take these into consideration when purchasing new replacement pads for your rocking chair, and understand how it holds up to indoor and outdoor elements.
Once you have your new cushions on your rocking chair, you’ll want to know what you need to do to protect them and keep them looking new for years.
First, you’ll want to make sure that the cushion’s ties are tied to the rocker to keep the pads from slipping or falling onto the floor. This in itself will do a lot of good for keeping it clean and untorn.
In addition to making sure your replacement cushions stay on your seating, you’ll want to protect the cushion from the elements. Make sure to bring the cushions inside during bad weather, and this will help in the longrun when it comes to avoiding mold and mildew from festering on your fabrics.
Also, be sure to check your rocker periodically for structural damage to ensure the safety of whoever sits on your furniture. This is especially true when the seating is used in a house with children.
By following these few simple rules, your furniture cushions will last years from the date that you replaced them-and then that’s one less thing to worry about.
